POSITION DESCRIPTION  

Description/Primary Responsibilities:  The person in this position provides initial intake/assessment of needs for accommodation related to a student-user’s disability,  recommends  appropriate mandated accommodations makes referral to appropriate resources on campus, tracks student user referrals. This position will also be responsible for prospective students during their transitional process.

Qualifications (minimum and desirable): 

·     BA/BS, masters degree preferred in Special Ed, Psychology, Rehabilitation, College Student Development or related field

·     Three years experience working with students with disabilities (specifically Learning Disabilities, AD/HD and Psychiatric Disabilities)

·     A knowledge of transitional issues with prospective (incoming)

·     Knowledge of Disability Law (504 and ADA)

·     Extensive knowledge of psycho –educational test instruments and how to interpret them

·     MS computer skills

·     Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication (oral and written) skills are required

 


 
APPOINTMENT  

% of appointment – 82% annual appointment

 

Starting Date:  July 1, 2008

 

Salary: commensurate with experience and education
