Information about UW-La Crosse: The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, founded in 1909, is one of 13 four-year campuses in the University of Wisconsin System. It offers a wide array of undergraduate programs in business, education, the sciences, the arts, health science, recreation, physical education, and liberal studies as well as a variety of graduate programs. About 9,000 students attend classes on the compact, 119-acre campus. La Crosse (pop. 51,000) is set among scenic bluffs along the winding Mississippi River at the Minnesota/Wisconsin border.
