Description/Primary Responsibilities:
Position A: 50% Clinical Education Coordinator Position B: 50% Assistant/Associate Clinical Professor
UW -L – Gundersen – Mayo Physician Assistant Program, La Crosse WI

The UW-L – Gundersen – Mayo Physician Assistant Program based in La Crosse, WI invites qualified and interested persons to apply for either or both of the Assistant/Associate Clinical Professor positions. As instructional academic staff appointments, both positions are eligible for career progression.
Clinical Education Coordinator – Position A
Responsibilities would include oversight of the clinical education phase of the program including: · Coordination with Mayo and Gundersen Lutheran medical education coordinators · Scheduling and evaluation of clinical training sites · Evaluation of student learning and progress · Clinical preceptor faculty development and support · Monitor and maintain the record-keeping systems for clinical rotations · Clinical curricular revisions and development · Updating and revision of learning objectives, written exams, and student evaluation methods · Recruitment of new clinical training sites with an open mind toward expansion of the program · Advise students through PA educational process · Classroom instruction within the pre-clinical year · Participate in all aspects of student education, curricular redesign, and maintenance of program accreditation · Actively engage as vital member of team-oriented faculty · Travel and evaluate clinical education sites
Assistant/Associate Clinical Professor– Position B
Responsibilities would include student instruction and evaluation primarily in the pre-clinical phase of the program including: · Classroom instruction as both lead teacher and adjunct instructor as determined by program director · Evaluate student learning and progress · Advise students through PA educational process · Participate in the student recruitment, selection, and admission processes · Participate in all aspects of student evaluation, curricular re-design and maintenance of program accreditation · Actively engage as vital member of team-oriented faculty
Candidates must hold either current NCCPA certification and be eligible for WI State Licensure, or possess an advanced medical degree (i.e. MD/DO). At a minimum, candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree and have completed at least one full year of clinical practice by the start date. Both positions require frequent and professional interaction with healthcare administrators, physicians, educators, and administrative personnel. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Prior teaching experience and clinical experience will enhance the candidate’s application, though all interested parties with a demonstrated interest and willingness to teach are invited to apply.

The UW-L – Gundersen – Mayo PA Program is a tri-partnership with the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, Gundersen Lutheran Medical Foundation, and the Mayo School of Health Related Sciences. The program is an accredited 24 month Master’s Degree PA Program. Salary is competitive, commensurate with experience, provides excellent benefits, and offers the opportunity to continue clinical practice.
