POSITION DESCRIPTION  

Description/Primary Responsibilities:  This is a tenure track position in the Information Systems Department within an AACSB-accredited College of Business Administration.

Primary teaching responsibility will be undergraduate courses in Data Communications, Information Assurance, Systems Development (Analysis and Logical Design, and Implementation with Database Management System), and Introductory MIS.  Secondary teaching responsibility may include Information Systems Project Management, Information Resource Management, or Electronic Commerce.

The successful candidate is expected to be:

   •   an effective teacher (The typical teaching load for this position would be 9 hours per semester or 18 hours per academic year);

   •   an active researcher (publishing in refereed journals); and

   •   a participating member of the university, professional, and local communities.

 

Qualifications (minimum and desirable): 

   •   Ph.D. in MIS, IS, CIS, or Computer Science (ABD's near completion of dissertation will be considered)

   •   Evidence of software development skills

   •   Evidence of effective teaching

   •   Evidence of research published in refereed journals and/or presented at professional meetings

   •   Teaching expertise in data communications, information assurance, systems development, and introductory MIS

   •   Teaching expertise in IS project management, information resource management, or electronic commerce desirable

   •   Career experience in business in an information systems capacity preferred

Salary:  (Academic Year): Salary is competitive with excellent fringe benefits and insurance programs; position is contingent upon funding
