Hometown: Oshkosh, WI
High School: Oshkosh West
Campus and Community Involvements: Resident Assistant (RA) in Eagle Gray Hall, show host for RAQ campus radio
Favorite place on-campus: The lawn on the South side of Graff Main Hall – it’s the perfect spot for quiet studying or outdoor nap time.
Favorite food around or on-campus: The scones at McCaffrey’s on State Street (across from Cartwright Center) are killer.
Best UW-L story:
I was wandering around Whitney, trying to figure out what to eat, and I saw a friend of mine. I went in for the hug, and after about 3 seconds he shoves me away and shouts, “Get OFF of me! I don’t even know you!” Pretty sure most of Whitney heard. I was so embarrassed yet entertained that I cried I was laughing so hard.
What surprised you the most about UW-L during your Freshmen year?
After the first few days and I stopped wearing my keys around my neck, no one could tell that I was a freshman. I felt so powerful and cool and mature.
What are your favorite things to do on-campus/off-campus?
I love to walk off-campus and look at all the beautiful houses between State St. and Cass St. That and take bluff hikes. They’re both gorgeous options, especially once the leaves change. It’s a great chance to relax and enjoy the view.
Weirdest thing about you?
When left to my own devices, I slip in and out of Southern, Boston, Brooklyn, and stereotypical Wisconsin accents. I think they add flavor to everyday conversation.
If you could be one household item, what would you be and why?
Dawn dish soap. There’s nothing Dawn can’t fix. Have you seen those commercials where Dawn saves all those adorable ducks caught in the oil spill? I would love to be that awesome. It’s like the superhero of the house.
Name something you do when you're alone that you wouldn't do in front of others?
I check my email in my towel every morning.
Name one thing you miss about being a kid?
Being told to take a nap. I nap regularly now and everyone thinks I’m lazy.
What is your favorite song at this moment?
“Tongue Tied” by Grouplove.
Do you have any hidden talents or skills?
I’m told that when I cluck like a chicken it’s incredibly life-like.
