  • Writing-in-the-Major: Writing-in-the-Major is a comprehensive and systemic approach to the development of writing proficiency at UW-L. Departmental faculty acting collectively—with shared goals, expectations, criteria, and standards—can have a potent, cumulative effect on students' writing and learning within their majors.
  • Writing Emphasis: UW-L's writing emphasis courses include specified amounts of formal and informal writing (writing-to-learn) and are taught by certified instructors, each of whom submitted a proposal and attended a training seminar.
