Dr. Douglas K. Smith was the School Psychology Program
Director at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls from 1978 until 2001. He
served as WSPA President in 1994-95 and was the Membership Chair at the time
of his unexpected passing in April 2001. He was very active in WSPA and was
a frequent presenter at conferences. He also provided consultation and
support to professional educators in Wisconsin and Minnesota. This institute
is named after him as a tribute to his tireless efforts in educating school
psychologists.
