ACCESSING THE ONLINE EVENT

• Look for an email from University of Wisconsin Canvas (notifications@instructure.com) prompting you to register/activate your account. If you have not received this email (or do not have access to the online course) by September 20, please let us know.
• After activating your account, go to https://uws-ce.instructure.com/ to sign into Canvas.
• If you already have a UW-La Crosse Canvas account associated with the email address used to register for this program, you can skip the register/activation step and directly sign into Canvas.

Technology Requirements

In the interest of public health, the La Crosse Area Suicide Prevention Initiative is offering a virtual Suicide Prevention Summit for 2021 to increase awareness about suicide prevention. Although we are not able to be with one another in person, we are pleased that we can utilize technology to share, learn and grow with one another.

• This virtual/online event will utilize Canvas for the online event platform
• Zoom will be the video conferencing tool for scheduled presentations
• Registered attendees will receive instructions to access the Canvas online platform on September 17. If you do not receive instructions by September 20, please inform us via email at ex@uwlax.edu

To access the 2021 Suicide Prevention Summit, you will need the following:

• Internet connection
• One of the following internet-connected devices: 
  • Desktop computer
  • Laptop computer
  • Tablet or mobile device 
• Audio output (either speaker or headset) to hear the video presentations
• Audio input (microphone) to contribute
• You do not need a Zoom account, but installing the app on your device will make your experience easier
