The UWL Alumni Association and UWL Continuing Education and Extension office have teamed up with travel partner Premier World Discovery to offer the Treasures of Ireland tour April 2–11, 2019 (10 days).

Join us as we tour the treasures of Ireland. Starting with a Belfast City Tour to learn about the history & struggles of the city. Next travel to the Giants Causeway, often described as the Eighth Wonder of the World and declared Ireland’s first World Heritage site, one of Ireland’s top tourist attractions. Visit Titanic Belfast, a museum on the site of the former Harland & Wolfe Shipyard where the Titanic was built and launched. Depart Belfast and travel to Glendalough to see the ruins of St. Kevin’s monastic site, a center of Irish Celtic Christianity. An area also famous for its scenic vistas of the Wicklow Mountains.

Then continue onto Limerick enjoying a Limerick City Tour to see the attractive St. Mary’s Cathedral, King John’s Castle and the Treaty Stone. Experience the spectacular Cliffs of Moher and view the mighty Atlantic and the beautiful Aran Islands from atop cliffs that reach nearly 700 feet into the air. Next travel through the Burren, an area known for limestone natural beauty. Enjoy a Galway City Tour featuring St. Nicholas Cathedral & Eyre Square. Galway, “The City of Tribes” is a vibrant city with a great seafaring tradition. Experience a Medieval Banquet featuring delicious food and traditional entertainment. Next, Adare, renowned as Ireland’s prettiest village. Visit the Foynes Flying Boat Museum, housed in the original terminal building in Foynes and said to be the birthplace of “Irish” Coffee. Arrive in the charming & picturesque town of Killarney. Embark on a Jaunting Car Ride into the Killarney National Park. The horse drawn Jaunting Car experience ends at the Muckross House & Garden, a 19th century Victorian mansion on the shores of Muckross Lake.

Travel along one of the most gorgeous coastal routes in the world - the Ring of Kerry. Travel through the mountains of West Cork and arrive at the historic Blarney Castle. Dare to kiss the famous Blarney Stone, rumored to bestow eloquence upon those who kiss its surface? Visit the Blarney Woolen Mills to wander the enticing displays of Irish crafts. Experience the Rock of Cashel, a group of Medieval buildings set on an outcrop of limestone. 

Arrive in Dublin and enjoy a Dublin City Tour to see Grafton Street, statue lined O’Connell Street, the General Post Office & Phoenix Park. Visit the famous Christchurch Cathedral & stop at Trinity College to see the 1,200-year-old Book of Kells. Tour the Old Jameson Whiskey Distillery featuring a recreated distillery scene and a generous sample of the famous Irish Whiskey. All as you enjoy food, fun and fellowship with other travelers.

Make your reservation by downloading the brochure. Fill out the registration form and return it to Premier World Discovery along with your $500 deposit. 

Tour rates:

  • Booking discount*: $4,025 per person double (+$900 single supplement)  
  • Regular rate: $4,125 per person double
  • Single supplement: +$900
  • A deposit of $500 per person is due with reservation form to secure reservations
