2019 Conference


The 61st Annual Meeting of the Western Association of Graduate Schools will take place in Tucson, Arizona, March 3–5, 2019 at the Loew’s Ventana Canyon Resort. Our theme will be Graduate Education: Innovating Within and Beyond the Academy.

Local arrangements will be provided by The University of Arizona, the state’s flagship institution. Located in the breathtaking Sonoran Desert of southern Arizona, and within an international border region, the UA attracts first rate faculty members and the highest quality graduate students. As one of top 20 public research university’s in the country, it is widely recognized for its support of interdisciplinary education and contributions to cutting edge research in numerous fields.

March is a perfect time to visit Tucson. The Tucson Festival of Books will be underway on the UA campus and the Mirror Lab and planetarium welcome visitors. The new, modern streetcar connects the campus to the heart of downtown with food and entertainment for all ages. “The Old Pueblo”, as Tucson is known, is today a vibrant, modern city surrounded by beautiful mountain ranges and distinctive southwest landscapes.
