Academic Skill Building

Our academic skills specialist can meet with you to help you improve study skills, vocabulary, test preparation, test taking, and overall academic success.  In addition, check out our self help section for brochures on improving academically as well as our group workshops.

Let's Learn is a brief drop-in consultation with our Academic Skills Specialist over a secure video platform. Students are seen on a first-come, first-served basis.

Let’s Learn is great for students who are:

  • Struggling in one or more classes
  • Looking for a different study or learning strategy
  • Confused why they do well on homework problems, but not on test problems
  • Want assistance with "not forgetting everything they studied" when tested

Common study topics include: time management, procrastination, studying effectively, lectures and note-taking, test preparation, test formats, and test day anxieties.  Drop-in if a 10-15 minute meeting could give you a suggestion or two on how to make a change! If you have questions about Let's Learn, please contact the Counseling & Testing Center (608-785-8073).
