Counseling and Testing Center Public Health Update

The CTC has suspended all in-person services until further notice. Students can still connect with us in several ways! See below for information on how to schedule.

Urgent care: We will maintain Urgent Care services for students experiencing a mental health crisis; however, this will be accomplished via telephone contact and response to messages left on our voicemail will not be immediate. Please call 608-785-8073.

If this is a life-threatening emergency, please call 911

In the case of a non-life threatening emergency please call the University Police at 608-789-9999.

For students looking to start counseling: Please call 608-785-8073 and request to set up an initial phone consultation. You will be prompted to leave a detailed message, and a clinician will contact you to consult about your treatment needs.  If you would like more information about finding mental health services while you are away from La Crosse, please see Referrals.
For students who have already seen a counselor at the CTC:  If you have an existing appointment and would like to cancel it, please log on at to cancel, or you may call our office and leave a message. You can also use myHealth to send a secure message to your primary counselor if you have any questions or would like to schedule a phone consultation with them.
For students looking for online resources (coping skills, managing isolation, etc.): Check out our self-help page- COVID-specific resource page coming soon!

If you have any testing-related questions, please contact Criss Gilbert at
