As a graduate of a Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) institution with an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) in Health Information Technology (HIT), a clear plan has been created for you to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management Technology (HIMT) at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

UWL and WTCS have entered into a program-to-program articulation agreement. Students who have earned the A.A.S. degree in the HIT major will be awarded equivalent credits upon entry to the UW-La Crosse HIMT major.

How does it work?

  1. You must have earned a minimum grade point average of 2.0 (0–4.0) at a Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) institution
  2. Credit will only be awarded if you have earned a grade "C" or better in your Health Information Technology (HIT) courses from WTCS
  3. You must have successfully completed or be eligible to take the Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) exam
  4. WTCS courses must have been completed in 2007 or later to be accepted as equivalent course. If you completed courses prior to 2007, course equivalents will be assessed on an individual basis
