Professional Development for Women: Empower, Advocate and Lead

Professional Development for Women:
Empower, Advocate and Lead

Women face more challenges in the workplace than men. According to the Women in the Workplace 2018—a study conducted by McKinsey in partnership with LeanIn.Org—"...it is clear that women still experience an uneven playing field. They get less day-to-day support and less access to senior leaders. They are more likely to deal with harassment and everyday discrimination." These problems are compounded for those facing intersectional discrimination and make it difficult for all women to gain leadership positions, advance professionally and advocate for change.

If you want to be a part of a changing workforce that values women, advocates for change and empowers women to lead, this 4-part workshop series is for you. It is designed to help you:

  • Understand how gender and other systems impact women's career development.
  • Strategize plans for developing critical career skills leading to personal advancement and  organizational advocacy.
  • Develop a regional network of women-identified colleagues who can support career development.
