Federal regulations require that institutions disclose certain information on educational programs that they offer that do not lead to a degree. Those programs would include certificate programs. Currently, UW-La Crosse offers three such program which offer a certificate. Information and the required disclosures related to the gainful employment of those students enrolling in these programs are provided below.

Medical Dosimetry

Q. What type of work will the Dosimetry program prepare me for?

A. The field of Medical Dosimetry involves the measurement and calculation of dose for the treatment of cancer patients. Dosimetrists use their knowledge of physics, anatomy, and radiobiology to develop an optimal arrangement of radiation portals to spare normal and radiosensitive tissues while applying a prescribed dose to the targeted disease volume. The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) in its Standard Occupational Classification lists radiation therapist (29-1124). Dosimetrists are included in 29-1124 as a subset of Radiation Therapists.

Q. How much will the program cost me?

A. For 2014-15, the cost is $400 per credit for tuition. Fees are approximately $125 per term. The estimated cost of attendance for the program for 2014-15 is as follows:

A. For Year 1 - Federal loans or private alternative education loans
For Summer and Year 2 - Private alternative education loans due to less than half-time enrollment.

A. The job placement rate for students who completed the program in 2013-14 is 100%.

A. For those students completing the program in 2013-14, and borrowed federal student loans during their enrollment, 100% are successfully repaying them.

Program Completion
Program Scheduled Completion is sixteen months. This rate is not necessarily reflective of the overall completion rate of the program.

For Award Year 2013-2014, the completion rate of the program was 100%.

On-time completion rates can be affected by scheduling changes, failed course or other circumstances. During the Reporting Year (July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014) the on-time completion rate was 100%.
