Important - budget and travel restrictions for 2020-21

Due to funding restrictions, the Graduate Council has voted to reduce the RSEL budget to $2000 per award for the current fiscal year. Applicants should provide detailed information within the Project Budget & Justification Summary Sheet about how any additional reduction in funding will affect their ability to complete the project. Furthermore, Mini Grant review and awarding is suspended until November, after Full Grants are reviewed for fall.

Additionally, we will not be able to use our regular RSEL funds to support graduate student research travel in 2020-21. We are seeking alternative funds and hope to post an update here in early October. For now, it would be best not to plan on having RSEL funds available to support any travel required for your project. All university travel must follow the current guidelines posted on the Business Services website

RSEL Full Grant

RSEL Full Grant proposals are solicited twice per academic year and provide up to $2500 in funding ($2000 for FY21).  An individual student may receive only one Full Grant.  However, the student may also apply for a Mini Grant; total RSEL funding is limited to $2500/student ($2000 for FY21).
