Information Technology Services hosts a number of events and workshops throughout the year. These include the following:
Technology Tomorrow, Today
"Technology Tomorrow, Today" is a daylong event that showcases some of the exciting newer and future technologies that may become common place. This event is an opportunity to view some of the products major vendors have to offer and attend informational presentations.
Hands-On Technology (HOT)
Hands-On Technology, or "HOT," is a one- or two-day set of hands-on workshops that focus on hands-on application and learning of technologies on campus. HOT is typically conducted in late May. xyz
TECH 4 U
TECH 4 U is a one day event with eight unique instructional tracks offered for Administrative Support Staff to empower and increase productivity. Each seminar is 55-minutes long with hands on learning opportunities.
Tech in 20
Tech in 20 is a day-long set of concurrent 20-minute sessions that focus on new technologies or updates to technologies on campus. Tech in 20 is typically conducted in the Fall of the school year.
Passport to Technology
Passport to Technology is a day-long set of workshops that showcase how faculty and staff incorporate various technologies in their instruction. This event is conducted annually, typically in January or February for nearly 10 years.
Faculty Technology Institute
The Faculty Technology Institute provides one day of hands-on learning to new faculty or existing faculty that would like to learn a few of the supported learning technologies at UW-La Crosse and how to integrate those technologies into their teaching.
Tech Tuesdays are two hours of "open" time where faculty and staff may consult with a learning technology staff member. Tech Tuesdays occur from 11 am to 1pm each Tuesday during the Fall and Spring semesters. Look for announcements regarding Tech Tuesdays. Some Tuesdays target a specific technology or need, such as D2L, iPads, or SEIs.
