This page covers the range of services offered related to multimedia. Lab resources are available academic audio and video recording projects. We offer assistance with multimedia software and equipment. Additionally video digitizing services are available upon request.

Location recording: single or multi-camera recordings or live streaming are available on location or in the studio.

Multimedia Video Editing Lab: available for faculty, staff, and students to edit educational related videos

Multimedia lab use guidelines:

Scheduling time:

Scheduling your edit time at least one day in advance is highly encouraged. Although we can accommodate walk-ins – editing times may be limited due to others using the facilities. If you need to stay longer than your time slot to complete a project, please inform the lab supervisor. If you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment email the Eagle Help Desk: helpdesk@uwlax.edu

Computer logins: log in using your net ID and password.

Checkout Items: we do not have equipment for check out.

Multimedia production services: from pre- to post-production, our staff will create a professional educational video tailored to your needs.

Training/Assistance on Software and Equipment

The staff provides hands on technology training and consultation for recordings and editing software for:
  • Audio and video recording
  • iMovie
  • Movie Maker
  • Final Cut Pro X
  • Adobe Edit Suite

Media support

UWL utilizes a several online platforms to access your content.

  • YouTube: The UWL YouTube Channel is available to any faculty member for classroom use. However, we recommend using MyMedia because of the targeting capabilities.

Video digitizing services

Digital media transfer: conversion of all academic/educational/historical VHS, audio cassette, film into digital medium or upload online.

CD/DVD/Blu-ray Duplication: produce & duplicate academic/educational/historical DVD’s with adherence to copyright/patent/trademark law. Cost $10 for VHS-DVD, $5 for DVD-DVD. Costs for transferring audio cassettes, 16mm film and other media platforms are available upon request.

Our mission is to support classroom instruction through the use of digital media. You will be recording with professional HD cameras, editing on Adobe Creative Cloud including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Audition, and Media Encoder. We also have Final Cut Pro X, Motion, and iMovie.
