2021 New Student Orientation Schedule 

Students will receive a brochure with a list of events that will occur during New Student Orientation (NSO). While all events are encouraged, only those marked with ** are required for all new first-year students. The schedule listed below is still subject to change.

Saturday, September 4th expanding section

Events marked **required** are required for all new students.  

9am-1pm-Hall Activities

  • Location and times displayed in Hall lobby

11am-1:30pm-Lunch at Whitney Center

*3-4:30pm-University Welcome and Class Photo

  • Stadium

4:30-7:30pm- Dinner at Whitney Center

*4:30-5:30pm-Residence Hall Meetings: Angell, Eagle, Laux, Reuter, Wentz

  • Eat Dinner From 6pm-7:30 pm

*6:30-7:30pm-Residence Hall Meetings: Coate, Drake, Hutchison, Stanford

  • Eat Dinner 4:30-6pm

7pm- Cinema Saturday

9pm-Moonlight Mile

  • Come walk or run a mile through campus and participate in the first special event of the year for Rec Sports! The route finishes at the VMSC Roger Harring Stadium with games and music. The start line is at the Hoeschler Tower and no advance registration is required.

  • Meet in the lobby of the REC and Eagle Guides will take small groups out to find the location of your classes

*11-12:30pm- How to help a Friend: Hutch, Eagle

12:30pm-Find Your Classes

6-8pm-REC Fest

  • Come learn everything you need to know about Rec Sports! We will have representatives from all areas to talk to you about our programs, employment opportunities, and spaces around the REC. Register for intramurals, talk with sport clubs, interact with staff, learn about the Outdoor Connection, check out the Fitness Center and climbing wall, and so much more. GIVEAWAYS & PRIZES!
