UW-La Crosse students may enroll in select programs that offer opportunities to earn their Bachelor's or Graduate Degree entirely online:  

Bachelor of Science in Health & Wellness Management Consortium Program

UWL participates in offering an online Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Wellness Management, in partnership with UW-Extension along with UW-River Falls, UW-Stevens Point, and UW-Superior.  The program is fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.  This program is a degree completion program designed to equip you with the skills necessary to design, develop, implement, and maintain health and wellness programs in the workplace.

Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management & Technology Consortium Program

Bringing together the expertise of the University of Wisconsin-Extension and four University of Wisconsin campuses - UW-Green Bay, UW-Parkside, and UW-Stevens Point, with additional instruction offered by UW-La Crosse-the Online University of Wisconsin Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management and Technology (HIMT) gives you the skills and competencies you need to be competitive in today's workforce.  The HIMT program is designed to equip you with the skills to work and lead in the health data management field. Health information professionals maintain, collect, and analyze the data that doctors, nurses, and other healthcare providers rely on to deliver quality healthcare. They are experts in managing patient health information, administering computer information systems, and coding diagnoses and procedures for healthcare services provided to patients.

Master of Business Administration (MBA) Consortium Program

The 30-credit Consortium MBA program, in collaboration with three other AACSB accredited MBA programs (UW-Eau Claire, UW-Oshkosh, and UW-Parkside), is designed for people like you - business people, engineers, health care providers and others interested in moving ahead in their careers. You will gain a broad, practical understanding of business, develop skills needed to manage change and recognize the opportunities it creates, and learn guidelines for confronting situations in an ethical and socially responsible manner. The University of Wisconsin MBA Consortium program offers opportunities for taking up to nine (9) credits of online MBA electives. Getting an MBA has helped our graduates obtain the promotions they sought, move into new professions or start and manage their own businesses.

Master of Science in Education - Reading

The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Department of Educational Studies has had a long-standing history of preparing working teachers to earn their Reading Teacher and Reading Specialist license(s). Reading education at UW-La Crosse is built on a firm foundation of best practice and current research in literacy. This multifaceted program is designed to meet the needs of educators who are interested in:

  • Ongoing professional development in reading education, learning to a Masters of Science in Education - Reading degree.
  • Certification in the State of Wisconsin as a Reading Teacher (1316 license) - with Masters of Science in Education.

Master of Education - Professional Development (ME-PD) Educational Leadership Emphasis Program

The 34-37 credit ME-PD Educational Leadership Emphasis program is for teachers, school counselors, school psychologists, and school social workers at the bachelor's level. Educators interested in expanding their leadership capacity for roles such as grade level coordinator, department chair, curriculum coach, or teacher specialist, and are not interested in a formal administrative position, would benefit from the program also. The ME-PD Educational Leadership Emphasis is a licensure  program for the Principal (5051) license.

The 34-37 credit ME-PD Educational Leadership Emphasis program can be completed in 18 to 21 months (5 academic terms) and is taught by doctoral instructors. The Principalship licensure only program consists of nine courses based on the Wisconsin Administrative Standards.

Master of Education - Professional Development (ME-PD) Online Learning Community Program

The ME-PD Online Learning Community program is designed for certified teachers as well as educational professionals from other fields.  The program is a fully accredited master's degree program with seven curricular strands based on the Wisconsin 10 Teaching Standards and the National Standards.  Its unique format sets it apart from many traditional graduate degree programs. The format is based on Adult Learning Theory and constructivism that embraces the unique needs of adult learners. The ME-PD Learning Community program is facilitated by a team of educators who have experience in this delivery model as well as PK-16 teaching experience and expertise in the core curriculum.  The Online Learning Community program is delivered online during the academic school year and also includes two one week summer institutes on the UWL campus making it an attractive degree for working professionals.

Master's of Science in Data Science - University of Wisconsin Collaborative Program

Master's of Science in Education: Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education (SAA)

Our SAA online program offers you the unique opportunity to integrate theory and practice to succeed in a student affairs career in a higher education setting. Exploration of contemporary trends and issues such as the impact of technology, diversity and internationalization in student affairs are also essential components of our program. Master's of Science Degree in Healthcare Administration

The Master of Science Degree Program in Healthcare Administration program, in collaboration with UW-Platteville, UW-Stout, UW-Stevens Point, and UW-Parkside, is a 12 course. 37-credit entirely online program that prepares patient-care professionals, hospital administration, or current management professionals to help accomplish the triple aim of improving access to care, impacting the quality of care, and reducing the overall cost of care in a variety of settings.

Upon graduation, you will be well-prepared to become an influential decision maker in your healthcare organization. With a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, you will find a wide array of fulfilling, rewarding job opportunities in every area of the country and in nearly any healthcare setting, including: ambulatory settings such as hospitals, physicians offices, surgical centers, long term care, assisted living, skilled nursing facilities, veterinary offices, correctional facilities, insurance companies, veterans affairs systems, pharmaceutical companies, and medical supply vendors.

Master's of Science Degree Program in Medical Dosimetry

The Master of Science Degree Program in Medical Dosimetry at UWL is a 5 semester, 46 credit program designed to allow three routes of entry. This degree program not only delivers the core medical dosimetry curriculum, it also offers advanced professional and research coursework that prepares graduates for future advancement in the profession.  

This degree program provides students with an educational foundation in medical dosimetry as well as clinical experience in a radiation oncology department. The curriculum requires online courses taken synchronously with a clinical internship at an affiliated site.  Admission to the program is on a competitive basis.  

UW-La Crosse sponsors the only Medical Dosimetry Programs in the nation that offer online distance education for dosimetry students using the Desire2Learn e-learning course management system. 

Master of Science in Recreation Management - Professional Development

The Master of Science in Recreation Management - Professional Development program is a versatile 30-credit program that will enrich your professional experience and inspire you to achieve more. Focused on advanced management skills, this program empowers professionals currently working in the field to build on a base of recreation education and / or experience to advance knowledge, skills, and careers.  Empower yourself to push the boundaries and boldly lead and inspire with innovative solutions that enrich lives.

Doctor of Education in Student Affairs Administration and Leadership (Ed. D.)

The Online Doctor of Education in Student Affairs Administration & Leadership (Ed. D.) program prepares student affairs professionals for advanced positions of leadership in diverse institutions of higher education.  This program is designed for working professionals in Student Affairs and Higher Education, with an innovative and focused curriculum taught by engaged and responsive faculty experienced in facilitating online learning.   

A unique feature of this program is that students will take electives and be in two shared courses with students from three other University of Wisconsin (UW) System institutions who are also launching Ed.D programs as part of an innovative cooperative agreement.  We are pleased to be working with UW-Green Bay (Ed.D in First Nations), UW-Oshkosh (Ed.D in Educational Leadership), and UW-Stevens Point (Ed.D in Sustainability Education).
