Special Events schedule

The Recreational Sports Department's Special Events program offers a variety of unique recreation and sporting events throughout the year. There is something for everyone and activities include: tournaments,skill competitions, road races, endurance challenges, and mini carnivals held in the REC. Try new activities, win prizes, meet new friends, and have a blast with us!

Spring Semester Events Schedule

  • March 13th: Swim & Splash
    • Get ready for Spring Break by coming to Swim & Splash! This event will run from 8:30 pm- 10:30 pm in the Mitchell Hall Pool. We will have 50 meter individual races (breaststroke, backstroke, freestyle/ front crawl, & doggy paddle), 200 meter team relay (backstroke, breaststroke, doggy paddle, freestyle/ front crawl 50 meters each). Make sure to bring your towel! Googles are permitted and we will have some available for your use if needed. We hope to see you there!

  • January 31st: Rec Mania at the REC from 4:00 pm- 7:00 pm
    • FREE pizza and cookies, Prizes, and Giveaways! Kick off the Spring semester at the REC and learn about all the exciting offerings ahead. Information on upcoming intramural leagues, Outdoor Connection rentals & trips, Group Fitness Classes, Personal Training, Climbing Wall, Sport Clubs, and more! Neat tje Cold and come participate in the three different special events offered
    • Intramural Basketball Combine: Can you beat the pro? Test your skills from 4:00 pm- 6:00 pm in lane agility, shuttle run, 3/4 sprint, 3 point contest, and free throw contest. At 6:00 pm we will kick off our Dunk Contest, all props are to be pre- approved by event staff. Winners take home an Intramural Champ shirt! 
    • Fitness Mania: Sample some of our most popular classes! Classes will be offered every 30 minuets from 4:30 pm- 6:30 pm. Participation enters you into a drawing for a free unlimited group fitness membership! 
    • Blacklight Climbing: Experience the Climbing Wall in a fun new light!
  • February 8th: Night on the Slopes at Mt. La Crosse
  • February 22nd: Rec Day
