Facility Assistants

The Facility Assistants (FA) have primary responsibilities of moving furnishings, equipment, supplies, and some cleaning. FAs will shift between duties as deemed necessary by their supervisor.

*Must be able to repeatedly lift a minimum of 75 lbs. and work with little to moderate supervision.

Remuneration expanding section

Facility Assistants are paid $7.50/hour. Students who have worked for Residence Life in the past will receive an extra .25/hour per year of service.

Job description expanding section

Moving furnishings, equipment, and supplies include:

  • Moving of furnishings/equipment/supplies between halls, within the hall, to/from Facilities Management and unloading trucks

Deep cleaning duties include:

  • Cleaning public areas and outside various halls
  • Cleaning/minor repair of Housekeeper equipment
  • Any other assignments given to the FAs by the supervisor and/or Office of Residence Life

*Note:  There is a lot of moving and lifting of furniture and equipment.   

Qualifications expanding section

Facility Assistants will need to pass a Criminal Background Check that is conducted through our Human Resources Department at UWL. You can find more information about student employment on the Human Resources website.
