Recyclables at UWL 

Common recyclables from UWL buildings include paper, cardboard, plastics #1-#7, glass, aluminum, and bi-metal cans.  UWL also recycles a lot of other items.  Some less common, but still present items are included but not limited to:

  • Scrap metal
  • Tires
  • Wood pallets
  • Appliances (e.g.,  refrigerators, microwaves, stoves, etc.)
  • Electronic scrap (e.g., computers, monitors, peripherals, etc.)
  • Fluorescent and other light bulbs
  • Fluorescent light ballasts
  • Tree stumps
  • Landscaping brush
  • Oil 
  • Antifreeze 
  • Compost
  • Batteries (automotive and other rechargeable)
  • High BTU solvents
  • Paint

Buying recycled products

Items made out of recycled materials located around campus include:

  • Office copy paper
  • Bathroom hand towels
  • Toilet paper
  • Carpeting
  • Gardening mulch
  • Furnishings in new buildings and office/classroom renovations
  • Trash bins
