Major: Statistics with Actuarial Science Concentration

About Me: I am from White Bear Lake, MN. I used to run track in high school (400m), and I still enjoy running and working out. Additionally, I like bowling, watching horror movies, and taking long naps.

Fun fact: I used to have a pet fish that survived for over 8 years. He died recently though 🙁

Study tip: When studying for an exam, I would test myself on new related practice problems. If they go smoothly, great! If not, I identify where I went wrong and look at my notes to solve the problem. Otherwise, I have looked up related YouTube videos and have gone to my professor’s office hours for help.

Major: Psychology

About Me: I am the President of Math and Stats club, I enjoy film photography, and during a hot summer day you will catch me at the beach getting a good tan! Fun fact: My favorite font is Times New Roman Twelve.

Study Tip: In my experience, creating stories and ways to connect concepts with your experiences as a person is the best way to understand a topic and ultimately study.

Major: Dual Degree Statistics B.S. and Applied Statistics M.S.

About Me: I am from Milwaukee, WI. I enjoy spending time with my dog and cats, trivia, skateboarding, writing and playing music, watching horror movies, and sports data analysis.

Study Tip: Redo your homework in the few days leading up to your exam. Having the answers that you already solved is a good way to reinforce concepts.

About me: I am from Cedarburg, WI. In my free time, I love to watch movies, read, and spend time outside. A fun fact about me is that my favorite season is fall!

Study Tip: To study a little bit each day and to reach out to your professor with any questions. Also, to maintain a positive attitude!

Major: Biochemistry; Minor: Microbiology

About Me: I am a senior from Kaukauna, Wisconsin.  I really enjoy cycling and yoga when I can join the classes here.  A little fact about me is I have played the violin for over a decade, and I’m continuing in the university’s orchestra.

Study Tip: It can be extremely helpful to start practice problems by looking at examples from class or a similar problem you understand.  I’ve found this can help with finding the patterns in the solutions.  Once you get the hang of it with the examples, you can try to solve the problems without an example to compare to.
