Why are we different

Unique Components of our UWL Regional Montessori Conference

We strive to maintain the warm, friendly atmosphere of a small conference while offering the expertise of a national conference. Our keynoters are nationally (and even internationally) known Montessori experts and published authors. Michael Dorer and Paul Epstein have consulted and presented in Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. On the warm, friendly side, we keep sessions small (15–20 participants on average) and encourage networking throughout the day. We encourage brand new presenters and welcome “old hands” by making the conference supportive and encouraging for everyone.

We are graced to hold our conference in the Student Union on the campus of the University of Wisconsin in lovely LaCrosse. An award-winning building that opened in 2017, The “U” was purposely constructed with several cozy seating areas on each floor (usually near a fireplace), comfortable break out rooms with flexible seating, gentle lighting, and floor to ceiling windows.

We encourage conference participants to both meet new friends and deepen commitments to current colleagues. Our goal is for every participant to leave inspired to provide awesome learning opportunities for children, youth and their families.
