Public invited to archaeology field school open house June 26

The public can watch archaeology fieldwork in action and view artifact collections during an Archaeology Field School open house Thursday, June 26 at Skumsrud Heritage Farm, near Coon Valley, Wisconsin.

Past participants in Archaeology Public Field School.[/caption] The public can watch archaeology fieldwork in action and view artifact collections during an Archaeology Field School open house Thursday, June 26 at the Norskedalen Heritage Site (formerly called the Skumsrud Heritage Farm), near Coon Valley, Wisconsin. Doors will be open from 10 a.m.-2p.m. The event is free. Artifacts on display will include new items uncovered by Mississippi Valley Archaeology Center Public Field School participants. The Skumsrud Heritage Farm is located one half a mile west of Coon Valley, Wisconsin, on Hwy. 14/61. For more information call 608.785.8454 or email mvac@uwlax.edu.
