The Turkey Trot is a La Crosse area Thanksgiving tradition that provides over 1,500 runners and walkers the opportunity to incorporate fitness and fun into the holiday. It is a unique road race that not only awards the fastest runners but also those who most closely predict their finishing time.  Children can also participate in our fun Jr. Gobbler Gallop events following the main race. Our trotters raise money for the Myrick Hixon Eco Park, the Rec Sports Department and collect food for local food banks.

Gobbler Gallop:
The Junior Gobbler is a race course held for youth participants. This race is un-timed, and all participants will receive a race number. Courses are divided into 3 distances, a dash, 1/2 mile and 1 mile so all ages are welcome to participate. The Junior Gobbler races will begin at 10:15am. Although the courses are designed to be a mile long, the Junior Gobbler is for any participant wanting to have fun! Volunteers will be readily available to run with the children if they need assistance or direction. Adults are also allowed on the course to help their young ones along if needed.
