    University Staff job vacancies

    Job vacancies for University of Wisconsin-La Crosse “University Staff” (f/k/a “Classified staff” prior to 7/1/2015) are no longer posted on the WiscJobs (Office of State Employee Relations) website and are now posted and recruited through the UW-La Crosse employment site. All applicants for University Staff vacancies will apply through this site effective immediately.

    Changes to State Group Health Insurance

    The Department of Employee Trust Funds (ETF) Group Insurance Board met on May 19, 2015 and approved changes to the state employee health insurance program that will go into effect on January 1, 2016. Information about the changes is available on the UW System Service Center website and the ETF website.  ETF has also provided a frequently asked questions document to address the changes. The Human Resources office will continue to communicate with UWL employees as more information about the changes becomes available.

    Overtime and compensatory leave policy

    The UW-La Crosse Overtime and Compensatory Leave policy as well as the UW System Compensatory Time policy became effective on January 1, 2015.  These policies affect the payment of earned overtime for classified (hourly) employees. If you have questions regarding these policies, please contact Human Resources.

    Hiring temporary office support staff

    Temporary office support staff are now hired through a temporary staffing agency under contract with the State of Wisconsin Bureau of Procurement. Supervisors should refer to the classified staff tab on the recruitment webpage for additional information.

    Emergency contact information  

    Is your Emergency Contact Information up to date? This information is imperative as we have had the need arise to contact a designee only to find no one is listed. When medical or other emergencies come up, every minute counts. Please help us help you out should the need ever arise. You can update your information on your My UW System portal by clicking the "update my personal information" link or you may complete and return the emergency contact form to the Human Resources office.
