These are the lots that will be closed:

Monday, July 28: R-4, 16th St. North, 17th St. North, and Farwell Street.

    Tuesday, July 29: C-8 and C-10.

    Wednesday, July 30: C-2.

Resident Student permits selling out fast

Resident student permits are on sale and selling out. Overflow parking is available in C-5 for resident students. C-5 is sold as a commuter lot but is available for annual overnight parking to resident students. All other lots are sold out.

Limited parking is available in R-1 only through March 1, 2015. These special permits will be available for sale once all other resident parking is sold out. R-1 is scheduled for construction in March. The special permits, valid only through March 1 or until construction begins, will be sold at a prorated rate.

Rates for 2014-15 are listed below. A valid NetID is required to purchase a permit online, or students may stop by the office. Students may pay by student bill, cash, check, or credit card.

Permits will be available at the office the first week of August, and valid photo ID is required. Students who return to campus sooner must make advance arrangements with Parking Services.

    Carshare program offers transportation alternative

Students, faculty, and staff can now sign up for Enterprise CarShare for access to two cars parked on campus this fall at the Stadium lot (C-2) and Recreation Center lot (C-7). CarShare is an inexpensive transportation alternative that allows members to enjoy the benefits of having a car while only paying for the vehicle when it is being used. The program is for personal use only. Vehicles cannot be used for UW-L business.

CarShare provides 24/7 access to hourly, daily, and overnight rentals. Members reserve a vehicle online, access the vehicle with a membership card, and return the vehicle to the same location. Fuel, basic physical damage, and state-required liability protection are included in the standard rate plan.

Now through Aug. 1, new members receive a discounted annual membership of $10 (normally $35) and new members receive $35 in driving credits. UW-L students, faculty, and staff can join with a valid driver's license and credit card at the CarShare website and enter promotional code CAMPUS2014 on the application.

UW-L students who are 18 and older are eligible. The program is also open to faculty and staff.

    Faculty, Staff Permits on Sale

Parking permit registration for faculty and staff is now available online.

The Wimberly lot (C-6) is not available due to construction of the new student center. Fewer permits will be available for the Cowley lot (C-3) because construction equipment will be staged in the lot. Faculty and staff should consider the ramp, C-12, C-2, or C-7 as alternatives.

Permit holders for C-14, C-4, the Health Science Center, Evening (second and third shift), P, and A received a follow-up email with instructions to purchase a permit for next year. These permits are not available online so follow the instructions in the email.
