  • Graduate assistantships

     The following are GA positions for incoming SAA students (additional positions will be added as they open).  Application instructions will be given at the SAA Visit Day on February 19th:

    Important Information:

    •  Graduate assistantships (GA) are available to students in the On-Campus programGraduate Student Internships (GSI) are available to students in the partner program
    •  The total number of positions varies year by year pending funding.
    •  A GA or GSI consists of 14-20 hours per week with a current 9-month salary from $6681-$10,327. Some positions may involve less hours per week and some may involve an earlier start date than the traditional academic calendar (and earn more beyond the base salary).
    •   Tuition is not waived for students with GAs or GSIs.  A portion of the out-of-state tuition may be waived for on-campus students coming from out-of state.
    •  Applicants must be offered admission and obtain a GA or GSI position to gain a spot in the program.
    •  Per UW-L Graduate Studies policy, new students must have a minimum 2.85 GPA to be eligible for a GA position. Continuing students must be enrolled full-time (9 credits) to remain eligible for a GA or GSI position and maintain a 3.0 GPA in the program.
