Fall

Fall FTX- This event is a 3 day field training exercise held at Fort McCoy. Cadets gain valuable experience by familiarizing themselves with basic and advanced land navigation techniques, marksmanship experience with hands on training at the range, and team building exercises through the completion of the Fort McCoy obstacle course.

ACFT- All cadets take multiple ACFTs (Army Combat Fitness Test) throughout the year. It consists of six events and is graded on a scale with a maximum score of 600. The ACFT is intended to more closely mimic physical tasks and stresses associated with combat. It is designed to measure power, speed, agility ... balance and muscular and aerobic endurance. 

Ranger Challenge Competition- Ranger Challenge consists of competing teams from different schools that test cadets physical fitness and military knowledge. To prepare for this event cadets on the ranger challenge team train in additional events such as. Rope Bridge, Obstacle Course, Grenade Throw, Weapons Assembly/Disassembly, unknown distance Foot March, and much more.

Fall Awards Ceremony- This ceremony is held once a semester. It is to recognize cadets who have demonstrated technical and tactical proficiency throughout the semester. Cadets are encouraged to invite family and friends to the award ceremony to celebrate their own and other cadets accomplishments.

Spring

Northern Warfare Challenge- NWC is a rigorous 16 mile rick and skills competition to test Cadet critical thinking, physical endurance, mental toughness, and teamwork. The event will test Cadet technical skills required to lead and conduct small unit operations in adverse cold weather climate conditions.

Superlab- This is an EBAR field training exercise to prepare MSIIIs for the CFTX the following month. It is a 3 day training event consisting of squad level operations and tactics familiarization. 

CFTX- This field exercise is only for MS IIIs. It’s a 4 day practical exercise consisting of day & night land navigation and STX lanes. The purpose of this operation is to prepare MSIIIs for Warrior Forge. 

Military Ball- The military ball is a formal event with a special guest speaker. Cadets are encouraged to bring family or friends to the ball. It consists of a social hour, formal dinner, and dancing. The military ball is held once a year. 

Spring Awards Ceremony- This Ceremony is held once a semester, but in the Spring it is combined with the Military Ball as a formal event. It is to recognize cadets who have demonstrated technical and tactical proficiency throughout the semester. Cadets are encouraged to invite family and friends to the award ceremony to celebrate their own and other cadets accomplishments.

Commissioning- Commissioning occurs once per semester. Cadets who have graduated commission into the army with the rank of second lieutenant. This is a formal military event that consist of three parts. The oath of office followed by the pinning of the bars ceremony and last the first salute rendered by an NCO. Cadets, family, and friends are encouraged to attend the ceremony.
