Microbiology Scholarships

The Department of Microbiology offers eight scholarships, totaling over $5500, to Microbiology majors and Clinical Laboratory Science students each year.

Scholarship Requirements Amount
Microbiology Freshman Scholarship Entering freshman majoring in microbiology that has attended the Microbiology Scholar Camp $1000
Microbiology Scholarship Microbiology major; Sophomore, Junior, or Senior $500
Walter Winfrey Memorial Microbiology Scholarship Microbiology major; Junior or Senior with a gpa of at least 3.25 $1000
Robert Burns Medical Microbiology Scholarship Microbiology major; Junior or Senior; must have taken Pathogenic microbiology and have a gpa of at least 3.25 $800
Microbiology Public Health Scholarship Microbiology major; must demonstrate interest in Immunology or Public Health and have a gpa of at least 3.25 $500
Larry Trammell Microbiology Prep Room Scholarship Microbiology major; must have worked in the microbiology prep room for at least one year $500
Allen Nelson Mycology Scholarship Microbiology or Biology major; Junior or Senior; must have taken at least one mycology course and/or done research in mycology $500
Grace Smith Clinical Laboratory Science Scholarship Clinical Laboratory Science major; Junior or Senior $500
