  • Welcome

New Student Orientation (NSO) & Welcome Week occur at the start of the fall semester and are designed to provide the experiences and information for a  successful transition to UW-L.

New Student Orientation (August 29-September 1) is for all new students to UW-L and offers a variety of programs, services, activities, and fun events designed to welcome and introduce students to all of the engagement opportunities at UW-L .  All new first-year students are included into an Eagle Group which is led by an Eagle Guide who is an experienced UW-L student leader.    New students will be "guided" through their first few days on campus by our student "experts". Through New Student Orientation, there are plenty of opportunities to meet other new and returning students, find out ways to get involved, and prepare for the academic year.

Welcome to the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse!

    Special Information/Instructions for Transfer Students
Registration for this program is now closed.  Please contact Student Life: First-Year Experience if you are interested in participating.

Transfer students are given the option and encouraged to sign-up and participate in the traditional New Student Orientation program.  We realize that you have had some experience with college, but not UW-L and each campus is unique.  Recognizing this difference from the other new students, the Eagle Group that you will be a part of will be comprised of other transfer students.

If you choose not to participate in the New Student Orientation program, there will be an informational session offered on Sunday, August 31 for Transfer Students.  Information regarding this session will be sent to you in Early August.
