| In the world of the outdoors, there should be no boundaries.
For an individual who uses a wheelchair, some problems do exist. As both
avid outdoorsmen, and Physical Therapist Students, we would like to
provide information that will help wheelchair users enjoy the outdoors.
We also will educate the general public on ways to improve accessibility for those
who desire to participate in boating activities.
We will give examples of boat landings that are wheelchair
accessible, as well as some examples of inaccessible docks. For
the dock owner, we will give tips that are following the Americans With
Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines for constructing accessible boat
landings.
Links to National, State, and private organizations that provide
information and assistance to individuals with disabilities are also
included. Additional Links to companies that make equipment
that will aid in accessibility can also be found.
We hope that you will use the information from our website to assist
in improving accessibility of the great outdoors to all people.
