    The quality and integrity of UWL's academic programs are identified through

    Accreditation   +

    The process of reviewing the University in comparison to a set of predetermined standards. The standards include expectations for curriculum, operations, and planning for the future. 

    The University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association, a non-profit, non-governmental organization. 

    Individual degree programs within the University are accredited by organizations specific to the individual discipline. discipline-specific or professional accreditation organizations.

    Accountability   +

    The process by which the University collects and shares information about its operations so as to provide transparency to students, families, legislators, taxpayers, and other stakeholders about the University.


    The process through which the University collects information about teaching and learning in order to understand and improve what and how students learn. 

    Student learning is reviewed by:

    • the entire University, including the University-wide General Education program; 
    • instructors in programs or departments; and,
    • instructors in individual courses.
