In addition to offering a major in Archaeological Studies, we also offer two minors through the Archaeological Studies Program at UW-L. One that is most complementary for graduate school-bound students is Anthropology. The Anthropology minor provides a background for understanding cultural diversity in the prehistoric and contemporary world. We also offer a minor in Archaeological Studies for those students majoring in other disciplines who would wish to explore their interests in archaeology and past human societies
The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (UW-L) also offers many minors that enrich the Archaeological Studies Major. Geoarchaeology, is a minor offered by the Department of Geography and Earth Sciences. Geoarchaeology applies the techniques of geology, geomorphology, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to archaeological problems (see the UW-L Undergraduate Catalog for details online at: http://www.uwlax.edu/records/UGCat/UGCatalogs.htm). Other complementary minors include history, geography, and biology.
