    Music Minor

    (All colleges - auditions required) 25 credits – MUS 201, 202, 235, 236, 237, 238, 301, 302; applied music: four credits in voice or one instrument; electives: four credits; four semesters of participation in large ensembles. 

Note: Teaching certification is not granted for minor only.


    Music Minor: Music Theatre Emphasis

    Students must be accepted into the Music Minor-Music Theatre emphasis (by audition) before declaring it as a minor. Students enrolling in this minor must also declare a Theatre Major- Music Theatre emphasis.

    18 credits:

    MUS 235 - Music Theory I 

    MUS 236 - Music Theory II 

    MUS 237 - Music Reading & Aural Skills (MRAS) I 

    MUS 238 - MRAS II 

    MUS/THA 304 - History of Music Theatre 

    applied music: four credits in voice. 

    Four semesters of participation in ensembles, at least three of which will be for credit.
