Physical Education Teaching MS

Program delivery options

The in-person track meets on campus at UWL for most classes. This format provides students the opportunity to earn a master’s degree throughout the school year and summer. Most coursework will take place in the afternoon/evenings.

Adventure & Outdoor Pursuits emphasis

You can complete Adventure/Outdoor Pursuits Emphasis, or complete a general degree without emphasis, in an online /blended format.

Hybrid/blended (Adventure/Outdoor Pursuits Emphasis)

The hybrid track is offered to practitioners who are unable to travel to UW-La Crosse for in-person coursework. This format provides students the opportunity to earn a master’s degree in an online synchronous setting in the afternoon/evenings. However, in-person attendance is required for three courses (see below):

ESS 765 - Offered summer over two weekends (UWL)
ESS 745 - Offered spring over two weekends (UWL and Devil's Lake, WI)
ESS 705 - Offered summer over one week (Estes Park, CO or alternate)

Hybrid/blended (Physical Education Teaching Masters - No Emphasis)

The hybrid track is offered to practitioners who are unable to travel to UW-La Crosse for in-person coursework on a weekly basis. This format provides students the opportunity to earn a master’s degree in an online synchronous setting in the afternoon/evenings. Additional electives (10 - 13) will need to be selected which may require in-person learning.
