The Medical Dosimetry Certification Board (MDCB) recently announced new standards for certification in medical dosimetry designed to elevate the dosimetry profession. Recognizing the integral role medical dosimetrists play in the treatment of oncology patients, MDCB's new standards for the certification exam will raise educational requirements, increasing the quality of healthcare to patients. Hilsendager and Director, Nishele Lenards were awarded national scholarships by the
American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT).
Hilsendager and Lenards were both pursuing advanced degrees and each received a $5,000 Varian Radiation Therapy Advancement Scholarship. Hilsendager was pursuing a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin - Stout. Lenards is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Education (Educational Technology and E-Learning) from Northcentral University.
