RSVP Today!

A morning of stories, connection and possibility

Join us for breakfast and an inspiring morning honoring students who are taking meaningful steps toward their education, careers and future.

The Self-Sufficiency Program (SSP) helps single parents and other adults prepare for college and build the confidence, skills and knowledge they need to succeed. Through SSP, students explore their college options, strengthen academic skills and create an educational plan that reflects their goals.

After completing the program, students may be eligible for Locally Grown Scholarships to help support their first semesters at UW-La Crosse, Viterbo University, and Western Technical College.

At the Locally Grown Scholarship Breakfast, you'll hear the stories of SSP students and graduates, learn about the journeys that brought them to higher education and see what can happen when determination meets opportunity and community support.

All are welcome — children are encouraged to attend.

Come for breakfast. Leave inspired by the students, their stories and what's possible when a community invests in education.

After you submit an RSVP, you will be given the option to add additional RSVPs.

About Locally Grown Scholarships

Students who complete the Self-Sufficiency Program (SSP) are eligible to apply for up to four Locally Grown Scholarships during their early semesters of college. Awards range from $350 to $1,000 per semester and help SSP graduates continue their education at UWL, Viterbo University, and Western Technical College.

To be eligible, students must be enrolled at least part time and remain in good academic standing.

Each fall, SSP supporters gather for the Locally Grown Scholarship Breakfast to celebrate SSP graduates continuing their education and thank the donors who make their success possible. The event is a heartfelt reminder of education’s power to transform lives and strengthen families for generations.
