Most people think UWL recycling is limited to paper, cardboard, and co-mingled recyclables (plastics #1-#7, glass, aluminum, and bi-metal cans). However, we also recycle a lot of other items. Some less common, but still present items are included but not limited to:
- Scrap metal
- Tires
- Wood pallets
- Appliances (e.g., refrigerators, microwaves, stoves, etc.)
- Electronic scrap (e.g., computers, monitors, peripherals, etc.)
- Fluorescent and other light bulbs
- Fluorescent light ballasts
- Tree stumps
- Landscaping brush
- Oil
- Antifreeze
- Compost
- Batteries (automotive and other rechargeable)
- High BTU solvents
