Stemmed Point

Stemmed point This stemmed point was recovered from a lithic scatter during a 2004 surface survey in Mitchell County, Iowa. It is missing the base but may be an Early Woodland variety known as Waubesa or Adena Stemmed. The dimensions of the point are approximately 1.7 inches in length (measurement would be greater if base was intact) x 1.15 inches in width x .33 inches in thickness (thickest portion of point).
