What's New Wednesdays

Explore the science of snowflakes!

We will take a look at the science behind the birth and growth of snowflakes minutes to hours before you finally meet them near the ground. Learn why some snowflakes have elegant design and others, well, are just an unorganized chunk of ice. We can guarantee if you experience snow after this talk, you will look at snowflakes differently! 

Dan Baumgardt is in his 26th year as the lead scientist at the National Weather Service in La Crosse, Wisconsin. He works to infuse the latest research and technology into the weather forecast process for the staff of 15 meteorologists watching over the Upper Mississippi Valley. He holds a Bachelor and Masters of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and grew up in Milwaukee. 

So please join us online from noon-1 p.m. Central Time on Wednesday, December 15, for the next What’s new Wednesdays.

While there is no cost for this session, we ask that you register so we know how many guests to expect. In addition you will have the opportunity to submit questions to the presents when you register. (All questions will remain anonymous).
