Car Free Week

A campus celebration of walking, biking, rolling and busing!

What is Car-Free Week?

Car-Free day is an international event where communities celebrate and promote walking, biking, rolling and busing. This is merely an opportunity to promote and educate folks on the benefits of using alternative modes of transportation.  Car-Free Day is celebrated on September 22nd every year. Here at UWL, we thought why just do a day , when we could do an entire week.

Expect digital signs, social media posts, and other media highlighting many of the benefits of walking, biking, rolling and busing.

What is Car-Free Week not?

Car-Free Week does not prevent you from driving. There are various barriers present in the built environment that can make non-car travel difficult if not possible, including but not limited to safe routes, accessibility issues, and distance.
