Monday Mindful Walk

Wellness Week Event with Counseling & Testing Center

Join Counseling & Testing Center on Monday, October 6 at 3:30pm to support your wellness through mindful connection with nature.  Register for the activity by emailing ctc@uwlax.edu Please include in your email any accommodation needed to participate in the event.  Space is limited; we can accommodate up to 20 students.  Deadline to register for the event is Friday, October 3 at noon. 

The event will entail a guided walk with CTC staff to facilitate the mental health benefits of body movement such as calming the mind, decreasing negative thought patterns, and increasing positive and energetic feelings.  Staff will offer opportunities to immerse yourself in nature through your senses; deep breathing and mindfulness practices will be suggested during the walk to deepen your experience.  

We recommend participants dress in comfortable clothes for the weather, wear close-toed shoes, bring a water bottle, and consider applying sunscreen & bug spray.  All registered participants can meet CTC staff at the La Crosse Marsh Trail access nearest Myrick Park/Dog Park at the event start time.  The walk will begin and end at the same location and duration of the walk will be approximately 30 minutes. 

If inclement weather, the event will be cancelled.  Students will be contacted at least 2 hours prior to the event start time of the cancellation.
