A Blufflands Volunteer Excursion

Invasive Species Removal to Protect Native Ecosystem

Join us for a meaningful day of environmental stewardship in Hixon Forest, where volunteers will help remove invasive buckthorn to support native plant growth and improve habitat quality. This work is in collaboration with the Friends of the Blufflands.

UWL students can choose from one of three 2-hour shifts to participate in this hands-on conservation effort. 

  • Transportation provided (arrive 15 minutes before shift)
  • Snack included 
  • Help restore our local Blufflands!
  • Please wear long pants, close-toed and stable shoes, and bring a water bottle. 

Whether you're passionate about the environment or just looking to connect with others outdoors, this is a great opportunity to make a positive impact.
