Hillview Life Center Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting

Taking place May 1st - UWL Student Driven

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Hillview Life Center is “All the Buzz” at Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting on May 1

La Crosse, WI — The Hillview Life Center will celebrate its Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting on May 1, 2026, from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at 3511 Park Lane Drive, with the ribbon cutting and remarks scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

This free, family-friendly event will welcome community members to explore the new space and participate in interactive activities led by University of Wisconsin–La Crosse (UWL) students. Guests can take part in a community art project, create fairy gardens, decorate cookies, and meet the center’s Chief Beekeeper. The Bee Well program will also be highlighted as one example of the innovative programming the Life Center will offer.

The Hillview Life Center is a unique collaboration between La Crosse County, the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC), the YWCA, and University Wisconsin La Crosse. Together, these partners have created a shared space that supports intergenerational programming, community engagement, and student learning. By combining resources and expertise, the Life Center is designed to meet community needs while expanding opportunities for hands-on, experiential education.

“The Hillview Life Center creates meaningful opportunities for both our students and the community,” said Dr. Jenn Taylor. “Students gain valuable, hands-on experience working with clients, while the Life Center provides high-quality, innovative programming that meets community needs. It’s a partnership that supports learning, connection, and growth.”

“Being part of the design process for Hillview Life Center has been an incredible honor for my classmates and me. Knowing that our ideas helped shape a space where generations can come together, connect, and learn from one another makes this experience truly meaningful,” said Avery Black, a UWL student involved in planning the grand opening.

The new center reflects a commitment to collaboration and innovation, offering programs that benefit participants of all ages while preparing students for future professional roles.

Community members are encouraged to attend and be part of this exciting new addition to the La Crosse community.
