Murphy Library welcomes new E-Resourses & Acquisitions Assistant Sam Steingraeber

Meet Sam, one of the newest members of the Murphy Library team! As the E-Resourses & Acquisitions Assistant at Murphy, Sam helps make sure the library's electronic resources are working as they should. With over 300 databases, tens of thousands of electronic journals, and many other materials available at Murphy Library, he has a lot to keep track of!

Where are you from? 

La Crosse, Wisconsin 

What's your favorite part of your job? 

Collecting disorganized data and making it usable.

How long have you worked here? 

3 months

What do you do when not at work? 

Outside of work, I really enjoy biking both MTB and road biking, creating something new in the kitchen or playing cards, especially euchre.

What have you read/viewed/listened to/etc. recently? 

At the moment, I am reading "The Optimist: A Case for the Fly Fishing Life" by David Coggins and have been listening to "Unreal Earth" by Hozier and "In Times New Roman" by Queens of the Stone Age

What might surprise us about you? 

I lived in the Everglades for seven months working for the National Parks Service.
