A new collaboration with University Centers Student Organizations invites student leaders to curate and create in Murphy Library

By Jason Anfinsen

Murphy Library is a student-centered, learner-focused, teaching library and campus hub for information, technology, research, and engagement.

Thanks to a cross-departmental collab with the University Centers Student Organizations, student leaders from registered UWL student organizations can now create their unique, group-based, student-immersed displays in the Murphy Library Resource Center.

Student Org Display Areas (SODA) are now populated exclusively with original vision boards and group projects in the two glass kiosks located in the main hallway of the MLRC.

The student engagement installation project connects Murphy Library directly to students, inviting club members to foster creativity, promote teamwork, and showcase their talents.

As content curators, students involved in registered organizations are encouraged to imagine, play, and collaborate to inventively highlight their club’s mission, events, stories, and recruiting opportunities.

Students interested in participating in the SODA collab program can contact Information Jason, Murphy Library’s Student Engagement and Outreach Librarian, to reserve a large display case (or half) for an entire month.

Murphy Library continues to foster a culture of learning by enhancing the library’s visibility and forming mutually beneficial relationships with students, faculty, and staff at UWL.
