Winners of UWL innovation competition announced Posted 2:43 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2019 Three students at UW-La Crosse took top honors at a recent campus innovation competition. Read more about Winners of UWL innovation competition announced UW-La Crosse graduate student Andre Rowe and UWL Associate Professor Eric Snively hold a cast of the left lower jaw of a T. rex. The image on the computer shows how a killing bite would affect the jaw. Snively’s research enlists students with skills useful for many careers in science, health, and engineering. UWL students Kaitlyn Nicholls and research associate Gail Gillis were also essential to the analysis.

At the world finals, more than 40 percent of all pro competitors fell on the first obstacle. Kopa is proud to have completed it.

Sharing the voice of Native Americans Posted 3:58 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, 2020 UW-La Crosse Alumna receives state’s MLK Heritage Award for contributions as author, educator, journalist. Read more about Sharing the voice of Native Americans Theresa Simpson, a biology graduate student at UWL, won the 3-Minute Thesis competition on campus Feb. 13. In addition to studying at UWL, she is also part of the Timber Wolf Information Network, a non-profit organization that provides public wolf ecology workshops. Because of her passion for educating about wolves, her tendency is to go into too much detail, she says. She was excited at the opportunity to practice being more concise through the competition.
