An ’83 graduate living near the village of Muscoda is helping area residents serve up breakfast and more in rural Richland County.
Ginny Moore, executive director of The Richland Hospital Foundation in Richland Center, recently donated 28 dozen eggs from her and her husband’s farm to the food pantry in Richland Center. Moore says it took about 17 days for her 40 hens to lay the 336 eggs that will either help people start the day off with a hearty breakfast, or be added as a needed staple in desserts or other dishes.
Moore typically shares the eggs with family and friends, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic and safer-at-home order she decided to put them to a different use. “It just seemed like the right time to do something like this,” says Moore, who graduated in accounting.
Moore hopes that up to 28 families will benefit from the donation. She plans to provide more eggs for the food pantry during the crisis. Along with the chickens, the couple’s farm is home to beef cattle, Holstein heifers and two German shorthair dogs.
